{K} Family...At the Homestead

There are many times I have been really honored to take pictures of someone. This time I had the honor of photographing not only a great family, but at an amazing venue...an old homestead on an original Wyoming ranch. I had to do a little research today (Only because in the hustle and bustle I forgot most of the details) about this ranch. Here is what I found in an online article. "In 1889, the Kirkbrides were given 160 acres by the government when the family moved west." "They came in a wagon, across the country from the East, with a rocking chair in the back of the wagon and $5 to their name." "It has been in the family ever since and has grown into a significantly sized ranch. A few abandoned buildings still stand like withered skeletons on the property - the houses of homesteaders, long gone now." Photobucket What isn't gone is the legacy that lives on...in this families life!! The only thing thankfully missing was the freezing cold temperatures!! Thanks guys for a great time!!
